Utah BEAD Final Proposal and Public Comment

The Utah Broadband Center (UBC) is proud to share the Final Proposal Approved for the BIG BEAD program, after the final NIST approval. This proposal details the outcomes of UBC’s Benefit of the Bargain Round of applications, presenting information on awarded providers and proposed funding amounts. The Utah Broadband Center tentatively plans to connect 54.3% of eligible locations via fiber, 26.8% through low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite, and 18.9% to wireless providers. Utah has provisionally awarded 43 projects to 26 recipients to bring affordable and reliable broadband to 32,229 broadband serviceable locations throughout the state. 

The Utah Broadband Center sought public comments on the BEAD Final Proposal for seven days until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
