Utah BEAD Final Proposal and Public Comment

The Utah Broadband Center (UBC) is proud to share the Final Proposal Approved for the BIG BEAD program, after the final NIST approval. This proposal details the outcomes of UBC’s Benefit of the Bargain Round of applications, presenting information on awarded providers and proposed funding amounts. The Utah Broadband Center tentatively plans to connect 53% of eligible locations via fiber, 27% through low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite, and 20% to wireless providers. Utah has provisionally awarded 38 projects to 24 recipients to bring affordable and reliable broadband to 30,189 broadband serviceable locations throughout the state.
